Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series MEDC XB15 range of 5, 10, 15 and 21 Joule Xenon explosion proof beacons is suitable for use in potentially explosive gas and dust atmospheres. It's ideal for marine and both onshore and offshore environments in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
The XB15 flagship beacon range now uses the new and improved universal base for enhanced application flexibility and reduced ordering complexity (ATEX and IECEx only, UL certification pending). With a removable guard fitted as standard, improved mounting hardware and swappable lens covers, it minimizes spares inventory and allows for relocation – customers can simply select the relevant color for the required location of the beacon to indicate a procedure, process underway or emergency notification.
The high-intensity beacon housing is manufactured completely from a UV-stable, glass reinforced polyester (GRP) - lightweight and corrosion free.
The XB15 contains a supervisory diode and four wire lead connections for alarm applications.
In addition to the standard worldwide certificates, EN54-23 and SIL2* are both now available. As well as the XB15 being certified from -55°C to +85°C, the new control circuits have been designed to consistently energise at –55°C.
This unit is available in a high number of configurations to suit your specification. Please download the datasheet for customization options.
*5, 10, 15J options are SIL2 certified. 21J option has pending certification.
